At present, the Government of India has enacted a similar law for the people of the general category, under which the economically weaker citizens of the general classification will be given 10 percent reservation through the EWS certificate.

Apply for Karnataka EWS Certificate
If you want to apply for an EWS certificate, then you have to follow the following steps.
- First of all, you have to get the EWS Application Form. To download the form, click on the link given below.
- After downloading the form, you will have to fill in the information asked in the form clearly.
- After filling in the information, you have to add the documents related to it to the form.
- After adding the document, you have to submit it to the Tehsil of your area or to the District Magistrate / Additional District Officer / Collector / Additional ‘Deputy Commissioner / Tehsildar / Sub-Department Officer.
- After this, your EWS certificate will be issued after checking the information given by you.

The citizens of the state also require certain documents to generate the Economically Weaker Section Certificate. These are as follows –

Eligibility criteria
- Those beneficiaries can apply for an EWS Certificate whose annual income is up to eight lakh or less, if the annual income of a person is more than 8,00,000, they cannot avail of the benefit of this scheme.
- Those with Scheduled Castes (SC / ST and OBC) cannot avail the benefit of EWS. Because they already have reservations.
- People residing in cities should have less than 200 square yards of residential land.
- Applicants who want to take advantage of this scheme are required to be from the general category.
- The people living in the village should have less than 5 acres of residential land, the same people can take advantage of the EWS Certificate.
- Outside the cities, a person must have less than 200 square yards of habitable land.
- Homes should be less than 10 square feet in hilly and rural areas.
