Balaram Yojana has been started by the Odisha government to give agricultural loans to landless farmers. Under the Balaram Yojna, a loan of Rs 1,040 crore will be given by the Odisha government to about seven lakh landless farmers facing difficulties due to the coronavirus epidemic. A decision in this regard was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by AK Tripathi, Chief Secretary, Odisha State Government. Saurabh Garg, Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, Government of Odisha, said that landless farmers were not able to take agricultural loans earlier. But now they will get loans through joint liability groups. Which will act as a ‘social guarantee’ for them.

Eligibility Criteria
- If you want to take advantage of the Odisha Balaram Yojana, then you must have the citizenship of being a permanent citizen of Odisha state.
- Along with having citizenship to be a permanent citizen of the state of Odisha, you must also be a farmer by profession. Only the farmers of Odisha can avail the benefits of the Odisha Balaram Yojana.
- Under this Odisha Balaram Yojana, landless farmers are being benefitted by the Odisha government.

- First of all, you have to go to its official website. You will see its home page.
- Here you have to click on the option of “Apply Online”. After that, a page will open in front of you.
- Where you will see the application form. Here you have to fill in all your information correctly.
- Then upload the required documents and submit the form.

- For this, you have to first get the application form for the scheme. You can click on the link given below to download the form.
- After downloading the form, you have to fill in all the information asked in it correctly. like your name, Aadhaar number, your address, etc.
- After this, you have to submit all the necessary documents (as asked) along with the form.
- Then you have to jam the completely filled form to the concerned department.
- After the submission of the form, your application will be checked then you will be given the benefit under the scheme.
