The Kerala State Government has launched an affordable health insurance scheme for persons with disabilities under the National Trust Act 1999. The name of the scheme is “Kerala Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme”. Through this scheme, beneficiaries can get insurance coverage of up to 1 lakh and it will be renewed every year.
Medicines for OPD treatment, facilities for pathology, diagnostic tests, etc., regular medical checkups for non-ill disabled, dental care, surgery to prevent further progression of disability, non-surgical / hospitalization, existing disability For corrective surgery, ongoing disability-related complications, treatment to reduce the effect of alternative medicine. To enroll in the scheme, the beneficiary should pay Rs 500 / – (for APL categories) and Rs 250 / – (for BPL categories) as the premium amount. To renew this premium they should pay Rs 250 / – and Rs 50 / – respectively.

To enroll or renew the Niramaya Scheme, the beneficiary should pay an amount equal to the following-
