The Kerala State Government has decided to provide a glucometer to all the senior citizens of the state who are suffering from diabetes. For this, the Kerala government has launched the Kerala Vayomadhuram Scheme 2024. Under the scheme, glucometers will be provided to elderly diabetic persons falling under the BPL category of the state. The application form of the scheme has been released by the government on sjd.kerala.gov.in. The Vayomadhuram Scheme will be implemented by the Department of Social Justice. The following documents will be required for the application of the Kerala Free Glucometer Scheme 2023-
- Aadhar Card
- Medical certificate (suffering from diabetes)
- Self-attested copy of BPL ration card
- BPL Income Certificate
As we told you the State Cabinet Committee has approved the launch of the Vayomadhuram Scheme to provide glucometers to senior citizens. Under the scheme, 1,000 diabetic elderly will be provided with glucometers in each district. Under the scheme, every senior citizen will receive a free kit containing 1 glucometer and 25 test strips. With the help of which elderly people will be able to easily check their blood glucose (glucose) levels using the kit. The objective of the scheme is to help elderly diabetic patients.
