Odisha Government provides financial assistance to the family of the deceased for performing the last rites and rituals. The state government will provide financial assistance of Rs 2,000 in rural areas and Rs 3,000 in urban areas. Apart from this, the state government has also launched an online application software to get assistance under Harishchandra Sahayata Yojana. The state government has also started the Mahaprayan initiative to free people from the stress of carrying the dead bodies of family members from the place of death to the crematorium/burial site. The Odisha government has started various dead body vehicles in district hospitals, medical colleges, and hospitals with CMRF resources.
