As we have told you under the West Bengal Rupashree Prakalpa Scheme, Rs 25,000 will be provided to the poor families of the state as lump sum assistance at the time of their marriage. This assistance amount will be directly transferred by the government to the girl’s bank account. Under the Rupashree Prakalpa Scheme 2022, the daughters of all those families of the state will be given the benefits of the scheme. Whose family’s annual income from all sources is less than Rs 1.5 lakh.

Eligibility Criteria

To get benefits under the scheme, it is mandatory to have the following eligibility –

  • She has attained the age of 18 years AND is unmarried on the date of submitting her application.
  • The proposed marriage is her first marriage.
  • She was born in West Bengal OR she has been a resident of West Bengal for the last 5 years OR her parents are permanent residents of West Bengal.
  • Her family income is not greater than Rs. 1.50 lakhs per annum.
  • Her prospective groom has attained the age of 21 years.
  • She has an active bank account for which she is the sole account holder. The bank account must be in a bank that has an IFS Code and a MICR code and transacts e-payments through NEFT.
