According to the Indian Motor Vehicles Act 1988, no person can drive a vehicle without a valid license. Obtaining a driving license is mandatory for all drivers. If a person is starting to learn to drive, they will have to apply for a learner’s license. The Learner’s License is a government document issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. To obtain a learner’s license, a person must be familiar with road rules and regulations. After passing the test, the applicant is issued a learning license.
After obtaining the Learner’s License, the candidate will be allowed to practice driving on public roads. The learner’s license acts as a provisional and restricted license. Applicants have to undergo a computer-based examination to apply for a new learning license. The applicant’s license examination will be held for 20 marks. The applicant should get 12 marks for passing.
